About 3 days ago I told myself I would start saving... I obviously took that as a joke ;) So at Fallow I walked out with a Gail Sorronda Black Chalk headpiece ^_^ (below)

My two favourite sales girls also told me about the Bessie Head/Fallow 'popup' clearance store in the city. Everything 75% off until the end of this week. SAY WAH? I was in awe. Why didn't I know about this? So yah, after visiting this popup store, I walked out with a gorgeous Emma Rea shredded maxi dress and Magali Pascal's 'Kafka Dress' for under $200 combined- RRP$440 & $340 each. Sucessful shopping day? Indeeeed.

slaying the macaron

Okay for Mother's Day I thought it would be a good idea to make some chocolate macarons since my mum didn't want anything. I figured making them would be meaningful because I have zero kitchen experience so it would be a real effort for me. Below is how they are meant to look.


My first two batches were dry and cracked on the top, my third and fourth batches were dry and hollow inside, my fifth batch bubbled too much and flattened, and finally my sixth and seventh batches were smooth on the top, with the bubble 'foot' on the bottom but were quite flat. My icing turned out really well though! Bittersweet chocolate mmm...

But alas- the final product! It doesn't look that bad after all. That is what I'm convincing myself anyway.

come what may dress

I am usually a size 6, but surprisingly I found that it was just too tight for me, so I went with the 8. If you're buying Alice Mccall, perhaps try the next size up?
