queensland flood disaster


This is a video of Toowoomba, a town in Queensland, Australia that is facing floods. It is heartbreaking. This area is about 3 hours from where I live. Today, Brisbane city workers were evacuated due to Wivenhoe dam overflowing into the Brisbane river causing floods. I live 20 minutes from the city. There have been 8 casualties up in QLD's North so far and 72 are missing. Floods are expected to travel south to New South Wales soon. My heart is with everyone affected by the floods. I hope the rain stops soon. There is a flood appeal; donate here.

    I'm watch channel9 news at the moment and so far 9 are now dead and 66 are still missing, i live in melbourne but just listening to what is happening over there, and just thinking about it scares me! I hope it doesn't reach to where you live!

  8. I still can't fathom that Toowoomba footage! My grandma and aunty live there (they were unaffected thank goodness) and I still can't believe that all these images are from the same streets that I am so used to visiting!

    I hope the rain stops soon too :(

  10. I love the fact that you posted this video, because it isn't fashion related at all; you've reminded me that just because I blog about fashion doesn't mean I can't blog about news and current events that aren't necessarily related to the fashion industry.

  16. This is so so sad I was just reading about this earlier :( A town I lived in once went through a horrible flood where the whole downtown was washed out along with so many homes...so I know the devastation it an be

  17. This is all over the news here in France. I've never been to QLD, but the devastation builds a lump in my throat. What gets me is the total opposite, that is occurring on the other side of Oz. My home town of Perth is struggling through the continuing draught, and now fires are eating through the dryness, just south of Perth. It makes no sense xxx

  23. Today on morning news I saw this disaster. Some teardrops fell over my cheek seeing that water just takes what he want and breaks his way no matter what and people are so vulnerable. My heart is breaking and I'm pray for all those people.

  32. It is so so crazy, I still can't really fathom it! I haven't been taking it in really at all its just so intense! My cousin and her family lost their house in a mudslide! So sad... Hope you stay safe lady!
