This is a video of Toowoomba, a town in Queensland, Australia that is facing floods. It is heartbreaking. This area is about 3 hours from where I live. Today, Brisbane city workers were evacuated due to Wivenhoe dam overflowing into the Brisbane river causing floods. I live 20 minutes from the city. There have been 8 casualties up in QLD's North so far and 72 are missing. Floods are expected to travel south to New South Wales soon. My heart is with everyone affected by the floods. I hope the rain stops soon. There is a flood appeal; donate here.

I love the fact that you posted this video, because it isn't fashion related at all; you've reminded me that just because I blog about fashion doesn't mean I can't blog about news and current events that aren't necessarily related to the fashion industry.

This is so so sad I was just reading about this earlier :( A town I lived in once went through a horrible flood where the whole downtown was washed out along with so many homes...so I know the devastation it an be
ReplyDeleteThis is all over the news here in France. I've never been to QLD, but the devastation builds a lump in my throat. What gets me is the total opposite, that is occurring on the other side of Oz. My home town of Perth is struggling through the continuing draught, and now fires are eating through the dryness, just south of Perth. It makes no sense xxx
ReplyDeleteoh my, i've only known about this through twitter. i'll pray for this.
ReplyDeletethis is truly heart breaking!
ReplyDeleteI was in Australia last year (I also visited Queensland) and my heart is breaking when I'm watching this... :(
