grana.

camisole via Grana, shorts Therese Rawsthorne, necklace Pamela Love

Do something good and buy your basics from people who source the highest quality fabrics from local villages and merchants. This double-layered camisole is made from 100% Chinese silk. Quintessentially, China is known for fast fashion and mass global trading, however there is actually so much heritage and quality in this country that most forget about. It's strange to think that one of the world's most prized fabrics is produced by a caterpillar, but the silk butterfly has been spinning a fibre so incomparably smooth that for centuries it was reserved for royalty and nobility. Today, China is the source of the finest silk and Grana's search to find the best quality fabrics led them to the ancient city of Huzhou, also known as The City of Silk. As I have a bit of Chinese heritage in my blood, I am proud to wear this garment. It's cool to think that such a simple object has so much meaning and history behind it. What's your favourite colour? Mine is orange :)
